Smart-Lipo vs Liposuction which One is Better?

This has been a common question since Smart-Lipo has barreled into the market. Smart-lipo replaces the negative connotation of Liposuction. When most of us hear the name Liposuction we imaging the doctor standing over a patient incessantly jabbing a sharp tube into their stomach. Now that Smart-Lipo has come out we can feel better about mentioning this procedure to our girl friends and husbands. Is the newer Smart-Lipo actually the smarter choice? Just because it’s the “newest, biggest, best thing” on the market; is it actual better for us short term and long? After prodding through many plastic surgeon forums I’ve found the highest rated doctors with both viewpoints on Smart-Lipo and Liposuction at RealSelf.com.

Smart-Lipo

Some concern from many physicians and plastic surgeons is Smart-Lipo does not require the doctor to be a plastic surgeon, reports have shown some physicians are not even Board Certified. This is alarming information; this is now an additive when evaluating the risk levels of each procedure. This might tip the scale in favor of Liposuction. The highest rated answer starts off by saying, "Your outcome and safety depend on finding a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon..." -Armando Soto MD.

Liposuction

Physicians agree the recovery time for Liposuction is longer than Smart-Lipo. The compressive garment is required to be worn twice as long with Liposuction. While we are discussing the time evolution, it's important to stress and advantage of Liposuction; Liposuction can cover large amounts of fat deposits in less time. If a patient insists on Smart-Lipo and is not qualified for it, the patients are now charged the extra amount of time spent in surgery.

Your Next Step

All of the physicians and plastic surgeons in this forum can agree to consult a highly trained plastic surgeon and get multiple opinions on your options. Research the background of your plastic surgeon and qualify if they are qualified to perform either of the procedures mentioned. Like many new aesthetic procedures out there, Smart-Lipo and Liposuction do come with risks, so please consult your trusted Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in the Frisco area for more information.

Less Invasive Bridal Makeover Smart Lipo

New Bridal Smart Lipo

In recent years we have seen the first FDA approved laser assisted liposuction treatment, Smart Liposuction. This treatment has been added to the options for the Bridal Makeover because of the short recovery time. This laser treatment minimizes the invasiveness of the liposuction procedure; the laser is used to liquefy fat and expel through a very small incision. The FDA approved laser allows for a much easier recovery time and pain is reported to be virtually eliminated. Soon-to-be brides are opting for this procedure because the selected problem areas are impossible to shed. For brides to qualify for this procedure they must achieve a healthy life style and be a non-smoker.
